i'm planning on cross processing whatever's on my next roll of film.. so, i'm going to have my c41 run through the e6 chemicals.. but i don't want the low contrast (my intentions weren't to cross process but i think i want to now)
would it make sense for me to tell my lab to push-process a few stops to compensate because i didn't intentionally overexpose?
my brain says yes, but i'm not entirely sure.
will post scans when they're ready!
sometimes i'm just dumb.. and today has been one of those kind of days

What kind of film? IIRC there were some Fuji print films that processed nicely in E6 at around N+3 or N+4... very creamy yellows and interesting muted reds. Don't think you'll be able to get a lot of contrast out of it though. Going the other way is a lot easier...
The above was my response. One thing to add... While processing E6 in C41 tends to bring out blue/cyan/green; going C41 in E6 chemistry tends towards yellow/red/magenta emphasis. For similar reasons, if you know a bit about the dye layers involved in the different films...
i have a roll of slide film that i'm saving.. not sure why, but i just happened upon wanting to to this.. i am using portra 160 vc.
Yeah, Portra won't be too interesting, but worth doing once just so you can see how it handles.
then i think i'll hold off and buy some velvia or sensia
Woah. Hold on a sec. You're going a few different directions here. You started off talking about processing color neg film in E6 to make slides. The color neg film you have is Portra VC. All fine and good. Now you're talking Velvia, which is a slide film. Are you going to process that normal E6 or cross it back to print negatives using C41 chemistry?
ugh, my brain.
i have slide film that i'll use next time
instead of doing what i was thinking about doing..
i make no sense, and i'm sorry to have confused you
i would rather process slide film in c41 than vice versa
should be able to? try rejoining
i think when i sent you the message to join, i had the community still as a personal journal
check your mail? if not, un-friend and re-friend :)
i've invited you twice.. and selected 'can post' and 'member' buttons
i don't know! i have it set as open, unmoderated community where anyone can post as long as they're members.. hmph
Never tried that combo, personally, but it should work if you exposed properly and follow the data sheets. Wouldn't try anything too fancy on your first roll, though.
